It started at Santa Barbara Winery in the late 80’s where Gardner worked as a tasting room manager and eventually cellar rat. Chuck and Gardner met at UCSB. Gardner roped him into helping out on the bottling line. After moving up to the Bay Area, Gardner worked for Cronin vineyards as a cellar master, but then got sucked into the computer world. A few years ago Gardner discovered he had a basement and started making wine again.During all this time, Chuck was drinking lots of wine and becoming a pre-Sideways aficionado of Santa Ynez Valley.
