Duane Cronin was my mentor. He was a great winemaker, boss and friend. He taught me to pick grapes, prune, drive a large truck through San Francisco and to enjoy life. He died January 14, 2007. Although I hadn’t spoken to him in a few years, his death hit me hard. I will miss him. Duane founded Cronin Vineyards, making exceptional wines and having a great time. The last few bottles of Cronin Vineyards are currently available at K&L Wines. I recommend buying one and toasting Duane, even if you never met him. Cheers, Duane.
