The 2005 Merlot and 2004 Cabernet were big hits during Thanksgiving at “The Ranch.” The name “Two FOols” was well received. The cab seems to have mellowed out a lot since the last time I tasted it–better integrated and smoother. We also had a bottle of the 2004 Chardonnay that was left over in their fridge [...] How’s [...] For some reason this blog software doesn’t show the name of the author. As I am sure everyone can figure out, the Deaux Visage posting was written by my partner Chuck. We have been trying to come up with a name for our budding winery and when I came to the site to see [...] I am glad to hear that my extended family is getting such joy out of the picture below. We want something that either represents our friend and partner-ship, or something that expresses out interest in expressing the terroir of the grapes we use. Anyoen reading this have an opinion on when to [...] Racked the 2006 “Gardner’s Block” Merlot into one very full beer keg. We used nitrogen gas to push the wine out of the cornelius kegs, but the tank ran out. The next day I upgraded to a 40 cubic [...] Monday night I picked up a bladder press from Fermentation Frenzy and we started pressing around 7:00 or so. The pressing system worked very well. I put my old stainless homebrew lauter tun under the press to collect the wine. The false bottom was intended to filter out any large solids, but there was really nothing [...] |
